The active tourism is one of the last tourist claims of this area of Asturias, thanks to the International Descent of the River Sella. From the 90S this tour began to be popular with the appearance of the first companies offering the possibility of descent the river in a tourist way.

The River Cares gorge is one of the most popular hiking routes in the National Park of the Picos de Europa. The route covers 12 Km. over easy terrain, between Poncebos (near Arenas de Cabrales) and Cain, in León province. You do not need to be especially fit.
